스웨덴의 유명 가전기기 제조업체인 Electrolux가 당초 예정되어 있던 $250million의 테네시 공장에의 투자를 중단하기로 결정했다. 경영자의 입장에서는 기존에 돌리고 있던 공장이 있을 경우, 경영여건을 다소간 악화시키는 외부 환경의 변화가 있다 해서 계획되어 있던 투자를 중단하기로 결정하는 것은 쉽지 않다. 오늘 나온 트럼프 대통령의 철강 결정은 경영여건을 "다소간"보다 더 크게 악화시키는 환경 변화로 인식되고 있는 것으로 보인다.
The planned $ 250 million investment will go to the development and modernization of one of the factories that Electrolux has in the US today. The Swedish manufacturer will also invest in the opportunity to develop new products for the money.
But now the white goods giant chooses to pause the investment after US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he wants to face a US customs duty for imported steel and aluminum.
"The reason is that it can have a negative impact on the competitiveness of our business in the United States, and then we need to evaluate it more before we decide how to proceed," says Electrolux Press Manager Daniel Frykholm to SVT News.
