News on Blizzard succumbing to Korean eSport industry

It looks like Blizzard is changing its strategy in dealing with the Korean eSports market.
A couple of weeks ago, a news said Gretech (an exclusive licensee of StarCraft II rights in Korea) returned a portion of the licensed rights back to Blizzard. The returned portion relates to the right to bring lawsuits in Korea.

Today, a news was released (though it needs be verified by other sources) that Blizzard is seeking arbitration and mediation with Korean eSports association (KeSPA).

Bill to Establish a Game Shutdown System passed subcommitte of the National Assembly

The judiciary subcommittee of the National Assembly of Korea passed the bill for a shutdown system for online and mobile games by unanimity on April 20.

The bill is intended to protect juveniles (under 15) from game addiction.

클래식 음악과 가식적인 분위기

정혜신의 "사람 vs 사람"에서 손석희 편을 읽어보면 클래식 공연장에서의 가식적인 분위기 때문에 클래식 공연을 가지 않는다는 말이 나온다. 손석희 뿐만 아니고 많은 사람들이 클래식 공연장의 가식적인 분위기를 싫어한다. 충분히 이해가 간다. 궁금했던 것은 손석희가 클래식 음악을 듣는 것도 하지 않는지였다.

음식을 담아내어오는 그릇이 마음에 들지 않아서 음식도 먹고 싶지 않은 것도 충분히 생길 수 있는 일이다. 하지만 음식이 마음에 안 들더라도 음식 자체를 음미할 수 있는 능력 역시 쉽게 챙길 수 없기도 하다.

오페라의 창법이 앰프가 없던 시절 오페라홀 전체를 울리게 하기 위한 창법일 뿐이라서 오페라를 싫어한다는 자세 역시 이해할 수 있다. 하지만, 음식 보존 기술이 발달하지 않았던 옛날에 식초를 이용해 밥을 오랫 동안 보존하기 위해 만들어진 초밥은 음식 보존 기술이 발달한 현대에서도 각광 받는다. 오페라 창법이 앰프가 없는 오페라홀을 벗어나서도 아름다움이 발현될 수 있다면 오페라 창법을 즐길 수 있는 능력 역시 의미가 있다.
